Who We Are
"Ahlul Athar" is an Arabic terms that translates to "People of Tradition" or "Adherents to the Narrations." It refers to a group within Sunni Islam that emphasizes the importance of adhering to the teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions (Sahaba).
Ahlul Athar believe that the understanding and implementation of Islam should be based primarily on the Quran, the Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet Muhammad, and the consensus (Ijma) of the companions of the Prophet. They tend to follow the methodologies of the early generations of Muslims (Salaf), particularly the first three generations known as the Salaf as-Salih (righteous predecessors). This group places a strong emphasis on authentic Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad) and the understanding of Islamic jurisprudence derived from them. They are known for their strict adherence to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah and for rejecting innovations (Bid'ah) in religious practices. In essence, Ahlul Athar represent a conservative and orthodox approach to Islam, focusing on preserving and following the original teachings of the faith as understood by the Prophet Muhammad and his companions.
